Fetch some enjoyable on the Humane Society of Durham Area’s open home


IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Whitby, ON (June 4, 2025) – Prepare for a tail-wagging good time on the Humane Society of Durham Area’s upcoming open home on Saturday, June 7. Come out for a day of enjoyable, meet some furry buddies, and uncover how HSDR is making a pawsitive influence in the neighborhood.

Go to the animal centre, situated at 1505 Wentworth St. in Whitby, between 11 a.m. and three p.m. to satisfy lovable adoptable animals and revel in a day filled with enjoyable. There will probably be meals vans, pet-related distributors, a youngsters’ zone, raffle prizes, and extra!

The Humane Society of Durham Area is a registered charity that has been supporting pets and the individuals who love them within the Durham Area for over 30 years. As one among 12 Ontario SPCA and Humane Society animal centres throughout the province, the group finds loving houses for animals and gives important neighborhood assist providers.

“We are able to’t wait to welcome the neighborhood to our open home — it’s going to be a fun-filled day for all ages!” says Shannon Stephenson, Supervisor of the Humane Society of Durham Area. “From assembly lovable animals to exploring how we assist maintain pets and households collectively, it’s an opportunity to go behind the scenes, ask questions, and see the influence we make each day. Whether or not you’re an animal lover, a curious neighbour, or on the lookout for a brand new furry pal, there’s one thing right here for everybody!

The Humane Society of Durham Area

The Humane Society of Durham Area is a registered charity. For over 30 years, the HSDR has been devoted to defending and offering compassionate take care of undesirable and abused animals in Durham Area till they discover their eternally houses. Dedicated to bettering the lives of animals, HSDR gives schooling and assets to the neighborhood.

In August 2022, the HSDR formally joined the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society to mix the organizations. This can allow the HSDR to strengthen and develop the packages and neighborhood assist providers it gives to assist animals and the households who love them.

The Humane Society of Durham Area acknowledges the lands and other people of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation, which is roofed underneath the Williams Treaties. The HSDR is located on the standard territory of the Mississaugas, a department of the higher Anishinaabeg Nation, which incorporates Algonquin, Ojibway, Odawa and Pottawatomi.
