Empowering the Subsequent Era of Eco-Warriors with Bana ba Bobirwa

Mashatu Sport Reserve, located in Botswana’s Northern Tuli Sport Reserve, shares a border with the Bobirwa District, fostering a deep-rooted reference to the native communities.

Recognizing the significance of neighborhood engagement and environmental training, Mashatu proudly sponsors and helps the Bana ba Bobirwa (BbB) initiative.

This program is devoted to empowering the youth of the Bobirwa District that borders Mashatu Sport Reserve, by way of conservation training, aiming to domesticate a era that values and actively participates in preserving Botswana’s pure heritage.

Latest Eco-Camps at Mashatu Tent Camp

This December, the BbB program hosted two exceptional back-to-back camps at Mashatu Tent Camp. The camps have been attended by keen kids from the Bobirwa neighborhood and devoted Eco-Guardians (volunteers) who shared their data and keenness for conservation.

The camps started with intensive volunteer coaching classes, equipping Eco-Guardians with abilities in mentorship, security, intentional programming, and reflection. These classes ensured a nurturing and secure setting for the kids to study and develop.

When the kids arrived, they have been greeted warmly with songs, goodie luggage stuffed with donated necessities, and the unimaginable assist of their tent leaders. The sense of belonging created at camp laid the inspiration for per week of exploration, creativity, and private growth.

Actions and Studying Highlights

The Eco-Camps have been a vibrant mix of training, enjoyable, and impactful experiences, encompassing:

  • By means of hands-on actions and interactive classes, the kids discovered about Botswana’s conservation efforts and anti-poaching legal guidelines.
  • Crafting clay animals and portray t-shirts allowed the children to channel their creativity whereas reflecting on the fantastic thing about nature.
