Elections, Activist Coaching Lab, Grizzlies, Pollinators, 30×30, and extra within the Saving Species E-newsletter

The previous couple of weeks haven’t been straightforward. I hope everyone seems to be doing effectively. I’ve been reaching out to family and friends – and doing loads of hugging.

And our group is coming collectively. I used to be just lately so grateful to you all to your great generosity on Giving Tuesday. Due to you, we smashed our purpose of $10,000, bringing in a complete $13,401.

It has additionally been useful to mirror on ESC’s historical past.

The Endangered Species Coalition was born in 1981 — a time of grave hazard for wildlife. Involved about efforts to weaken the Endangered Species Act throughout its 1982 reauthorization, conservation leaders from the Nationwide Audubon Society, Sierra Membership, Defenders of Wildlife, Environmental Protection Fund, Earthjustice, and World Wildlife Fund realized that we would have liked to foster a grassroots power for endangered species. Thus, the ESC was born, and this synergistic motion has grown to over 400 member organizations, 500,000 supporters, and sentinels, defeating each main effort since to undermine the ESA.

We aren’t afraid of a combat.

And we all know one is coming. Over the past Trump Administration, we noticed new laws to delist grey wolves throughout the U.S. and to weaken habitat protections. With a pliant Congress and an much more radical agenda, we all know that bedrock legal guidelines essential to wildlife are on the chopping block.

However I’ve hope. Right here at ESC our wonderful employees is devoted to 1 factor, defending biodiversity. Final week we met for 3 days to plan our technique. Now we have champions in Congress, teams across the nation and a strong group of 500,000 members — we will likely be mobilizing all of them.

That is what provides me hope: our collective love of wildlife, perception in humanity, and dedication to our group. We all know that 84% of People assist a powerful Endangered Species Act. We’re on this collectively.

Thanks to your continued assist. Collectively, we’re stronger.

Hugs,

Susan
