In case you missed it, the bald eagle pair on the US Metal Irvin nest welcomed their first egg of 2025 on Thursday afternoon 13 February. WTAE reviews:
WEST MIFFLIN, Pa. — The bald eagles dwelling at U.S. Metal’s Irvin Plant have welcomed their first egg of 2025.
Mom Stella laid the egg round 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Stella joined Irvin within the nest after Claire left late final 12 months. Irvin has lived on the nest for six seasons.
The egg may hatch in as little as 35 days and be the eighth eaglet born on the nest.

That is completely satisfied information since nesting at Hays appears to be like uncertain after months of disruption by a number of immature eagles. Although the breeding season might be salvaged at Hays by a powerful pushed pair, that sort of pair bond has not developed but this spring.
An analogous although very quick drama occurred final fall at USS Irvin leading to a brand new couple with a powerful bond: Stella and Irvin. Study their historical past on this video from KDKA.
Watch them LIVE on the U.S. Metal Bald Eagle Nest Cam. Click on right here to tune on this morning (16 Feb) and see a really moist Stella on the nest. (Sure, it’s raining however it is going to change to snow.)
