Whereas it snowed in Florida yesterday (click on right here for video!) the deep freeze up north is making the Nice Lakes ice up.

As of yesterday Lake Erie was iced up on its western and all alongside the shore to Buffalo. Erie freezes earlier than the opposite lakes as a result of it’s so shallow.

With the western finish frozen strong it’s arduous to maintain transport channels open. Ten years in the past throughout the very chilly winter of 2015 ships bought caught in Lake Erie’s ice. This one is caught close to Ashtabula, Ohio that February. Coast Guard icebreakers got here out to rescue it.
