Eurasian eagle owls (Bubo bubo) span the continent from Norway and Spain to the Russian Far East, the Koreas, and China. As a result of they’ve been persecuted by folks they’re very delicate to human disturbance in Sweden and can abandon eggs and even nestlings.
In some locations they nest in parks, comparable to this owl household in southern Germany.

However essentially the most wonderful have been the town owls who moved into Helsinki about 20 years in the past when the rabbit inhabitants grew massive. Certainly one of them grew to become well-known by “crashing” a soccer playoff at Helsinki Olympic Stadium(*).

Eurasian eagle owls aren’t reported anymore in Helsinki’s metropolis heart. I believe that they left when the rabbit inhabitants returned to regular.

Extra in regards to the celeb owl on the stadium: On 6 June 2007 the Euro 2008 Finland-vs-Belgium qualifying match was being held on the stadium when an eagle owl landed on the sector and flew to the purpose posts.
