I’m Marco Basile from the Swiss Federal Analysis Institute WSL situated close to the colourful metropolis of Zurich, the place I stay. I lately joined the editorial workforce at Wildlife Biology. I all the time loved studying this journal as I’m an animal ecologist with a powerful curiosity in bird-habitat relationship and biotic interactions amongst species. My present analysis is principally about forest ecosystems and the interactions between insectivore birds and native and non-native insect pests. I make intensive use of inhabitants and group fashions, with frequentist or Bayesian inference.

My earlier research targeted on biodiversity-oriented forest administration, species prevalence and abundance modelling and forest biodiversity indicators. I additionally labored on different animal species, together with mammals, amphibians and beetles. My favorite species are woodpeckers, which have a central position in my analysis. I’ve obtained my PhD from the College of Freiburg, Germany.

Outdoors work, I take pleasure in travelling and birdwatching. I like to gather chook guides from the nations I go to although smartphone apps are making books outdated! Each on occasion, I like to go to chook ringing stations, particularly within the Mediterranean sea and within the Alps.

Key phrases: birds, biodiversity-oriented forest administration, species distribution modelling, temperate and boreal biomes
