This week I noticed flowers, fruiting fungi, and bugs in Schenley and Frick Parks. The flowers are city pioneers, the fungi are native, and the bugs are principally mysteries. Right here’s the story in photographs:

Numerous moist climate has inspired fruiting fungi in Schenley Park. Google Lens tells me they’re:

Noticed lanternfly nymphs on Satan’s strolling stick/Japanese aralia
Galls on shagbark hickory leaves. This tree was infested in Frick Park.
