Yesterday morning it was very foggy when three of us started birding on the Bartlett finish of Schenley Park. I assumed the birds could be sleeping however newly arrived warblers and a hummingbird chased flying bugs and one another. In addition they gleaned tiny bugs from moist leaves.
Jeff Cieslak took many pictures which we would have liked to ID the birds we might barely see. This choice is from his Fb group: Our Every day Fowl.
The birds have been so superior that we stood nonetheless for half an hour whereas they flew round us. Regardless of the challenges we recognized 10 warbler species and a thriller “new world warbler sp.”
It was tough. The birds have been in fog and low mild ranges …

with muted colours matching the surroundings …

… and hiding within the leaves.

There was harsh mild and shadow when the solar broke via.

And a few of them have been extremely lively. This chook was Better of the day as a result of he zigzagged previous us repeatedly after which landed on a twig in a darkish thicket. The picture reveals he’s a blackpoll warbler.

At 10:30am the fog lifted and we noticed yet another flurry of warblers. Then the day heated up, Jeff took this picture and the birds retreated to the inside forest.

Right here’s our guidelines.
